About the Trip

Over the next 42 days I will be living in Pune, India, the second largest city in the state of Maharashtra (after Mumbai). During this time I will be participating in a medical internship with an organization called Child and Family Health International, as well as conducting my own research on water quality in slum communities. The purpose of this page is to keep friends and loved ones up to date on what I am doing on a daily basis. Each day I will post a blog and will upload pictures too! I look forward to hearing from each of you as the month goes by! Enjoy.

I am always amazed at how clean and tidy the people that live in the slums look. What is their definition of a slum and its inhabitants?
